Large diameter mandrels create new opportunities for hose producers |

Traditionally, flexible plastic mandrels have been used only for hoses up to 25mm (1") diameter. Larger diameters have traditionally been made on steel mandrels, which is less efficient and limits the length of hose that can be made.
But Bell Plastics' specially-designed mandrel production process can produce flexible nylon mandrels up to 50mm (2") diameter, in long continuous lengths (eg over 50m for 50mm diameter). Several of Bell's customers have taken advantage of Bell's know-how in this area, and have switched to Bell's flexible nylon mandrels for 31mm (1¼"), 38mm (1½") and 50mm (2") hoses.
