PFA legislation: Bellglide mandrels provide solution to PTFE lubricants

PFA’s (also known as “forever chemicals”) are under investigation due to their tendancy to be very stable, which means they can accumulate within humans, animals and the environment:

Bellglide PA mandrels have been proven to work well when used to make hose with the most problematic, sticky rubber tube compounds (FKM, CPE, EPDM etc).

In all tests and trials, Bellglide PA mandrel eject/blow out easily from hydraulic, automotive and industrial rubber hose, often without the use of a lubricant/anti stick compound.

Concerns about PFA’s and possible restrictions of use of fluorocarbon (e.g. PTFE) containing mandrel lubricants can be avoided by using Bellglide PA mandrels which can easily be removed in high and low pressure hose.

Bellglide PA mandrels offer an excellent alternative to TPX mandrels which are often used for ease of ejection/blowout. Bellglide PA is easier to weld and is a harder material so less likely to be damaged enabling long term use.
